Course Details
Wanganui High School offers 53 subjects. These include six
languages, sciences, business and arts. The school is strong
in mathematics and has entry agreements with the computer
graphics degree programmes at Wanganui UCOL.
Wanganui High School has a four level ESOL programme.
Students enter at a level reflecting their ability in
English. Maximum 10 students per class.

In addition students are supported in their other subjects by ESOL staff available in lunch-time tutorials and support classes. All students study 6 subjects.
Location and Facilities
Wanganui is a safe friendly city of 45,000 people located on
the West of the North Island. It has a mild climate – warm
summers and cool winters.
Wanganui High School has 150
computers, an up-to-date library and fully equipped
technology workshops. We have the advantage of a central
location coupled with the friendliness of a small provincial
city.
Accommodation and Welfare
All our students are placed in school selected homestays to
provide total immersion in the English language in a warm
and caring environment.
Wanganui High School welcomes
students from a range of countries with limited numbers from
any one country to ensure students focus on speaking
English.
Extra Curricular Programme
More than 60 different sports are catered for within the
school and Wanganui Region. Participation in sport is
optional and the school excels in basketball and soccer.
