beautiful coastline and has the highest sunshine hours in
New Zealand. NMIT is a beautiful, friendly campus, situated
in the centre of the city close to all facilities.
Library Learning Centre with free email and internet use,
cafeteria, computer suites, health centre, counsellor, extra
academic and English tutoring, student support advisors,
recreation advisors, airport pick-up – all at no cost!
Accommodation and Welfare
NMIT has an Accommodation Coordinator who will help students
find suitable accommodation in Franklyn Hall, our campus
accommodation, or in a local homestay. Nelson people are
very supportive of our international students and we are
usually able to find homestays very close to campus.
Staff are also available to spend time with students when
they arrive to make sure they can find their way around NMIT
and the city. Assistance is available to open bank accounts
and other services which help students to feel at home very
quickly. There is an excellent
programme of activities for weekends which give students the
opportunity to swim, kayak, fish and ski and generally enjoy
our beautiful environment.
